"“Look at life with the eyes of a child.” ~ Henri Matisse

Welcome to my studio website!

Blessed with an overactive imagination, a playful inner child, and

a desire to make others smile, my artwork is infused

with a bit of myself, and a spirit of happiness. My creations come to be

from taking a view of life and presenting it in an entertaining context.

My work includes hand altered, wheel thrown pottery, sculptures,

and tile.  The majority of which is oxidation fired, though I also do

some Raku firings in the western style.

I enjoy working with clay because it is a tactile and responsive medium with which an artist can express moods and feelings.

It is my belief that when working with clay, there are always new paths to discover.  In all my work, I strive for combinations of functionality and aesthetic pleasure,  while responding to the inspiring but challenging whims of this medium.

Every piece I make here reflects a successful combination of artistry, clay, chemistry, and heat.  I love what I do, and because of that, each creation is a unique work of art which came to be from a ball of clay, crafted with my hands and heart, and backed with over twenty-five years of study and experience.

My studio is in a refurbished four-stall barn behind our home in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.  I am fortunate to share my life with my husband of 35 years, several dogs, a few cats, a hedgehog, and a flock of hens.

Enjoy your visit,
