I have been teaching pottery camps and workshops for adults and children for over 14 years through Frederick County Parks and Rec (Winchester, VA), Jefferson County Parks and Rec (Charles Town, WV), Lord Fairfax Community College, and in my home studio.

For me, it is a joy to teach because it is inspiring to help others discover their hidden creative selves, and it is always rewarding to encourage others to try different art media and find new passions.

You must call ahead to schedule a class, no drop-ins!

About our Camps and Workshops:

MUDWORKS, ARTWORKS, and WORDWORKS are weeklong camps for kids. You can choose a morning session or an afternoon session. Discounts available for those who wish to enroll in both morning and afternoon (full day) sessions. See schedule for location and times. Open to ages 7-15.  All camps include different hand built pottery projects each day and each week, no repetitions, so returning students always do something new.

Workshops are usually held on Saturdays and open to all ages. They each offer a chance for individuals to try their hand at something new, or parent and child to work together and create a memorable item, or simply a great way to spend a morning or afternoon with a friend or family member.

New! This year we are introducing "3rd Wednesdays" for adults! The studio will be open from 6pm to 9pm so that you can come and play in the mud. Come for one or two sessions, or come to all of them. You'll create something different every evening!

When possible and weather permitting, pottery projects made on first two days of week long camps are fired and returned on the last day of class. Remaining pottery camp projects, and any pottery workshop projects, are usually available for pick up from the studio one to three weeks after completion. Drying times are affected by humidity level, clay thickness and size of projects, and class size and productivity can affect the number of firings necessary.

Check back often for updates on future workshops available at the studio, or, if you don't find a time to suit your schedule listed below, email
mudnfire@themudpeddler.com or call 304-279-7979) and arrange a time to come by and play!
